Superintendent Ronald McIntire DoDDS-Europe, Isles DistrictRonald G. McIntire is the Superintendent of the Isles District of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in the United Kingdom. He previously served as Superintendent. of the Bavaria and Brussels Districts.
Dr. McIntire began his career in education as a classroom teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada. He progressed through the ranks of professional education occupying positions of increasingly greater responsibilities and challenges. His resume reflects such jobs as Deputy Superintendent of the Houston Schools, Superintendent Park City, Utah and Superintendent of the Wichita Public Schools, Kansas. Dr. McIntire received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western State College of Colorado, and the University of California at Los Angels bestowed his doctorate. He also completed post-doctorate study at Stanford University where he studied the role of the arts in education. Dr. McIntire has published articles in Educational Leadership, The American School Board Journal, The National Association of Secondary Schools Principals Bulletin, Teacher Education and Practice and in the Kappan. He has published two video-based training programs on peer coaching and on effective teaching practices. In 1994, Scholastic published his book, The Self-Directed School: Empowering the Stakeholders. |
